Hello, and welcome to our video series on the Arizona Management System – how Arizona is transforming the way our State government thinks and operates.
Our goal with these videos is to introduce you to principles and techniques of Arizona’s system for improving the State’s culture and performance. In short, we want State employees fully engaged in a culture of continuous improvement, where everybody every day and everywhere looks at how they did yesterday, finds the waste, and solves the problems that slow us down. The point is to consistently improve our ability to deliver better, faster mission outcomes for the citizens we serve.
The Arizona Management System is based on principles of Lean, and in our series we’ll cover Lean history and core concepts such as defining value from the customer’s perspective and exploring the many types of waste found in our processes. We’ll introduce you to the Plan-Do-Check-Adjust cycle of continuous improvement as well as the many tools Arizona employees have begun using to increase productivity and efficiency.
What we do matters. That’s why we must improve every day. We hope you enjoy these videos and apply their lessons in your day-to-day work.
