Committed to fiscal responsibility, Governor Doug Ducey in 2016 initiated throughout his cabinet agencies an intentional, results-driven management system to fundamentally change how Arizona government thinks and does business. These agencies participate on a Goal Council whose purpose is to drive innovation, continuous improvement, and efficiency and accountability with state tax dollars.
The projects featured on this Web page are among numerous projects undertaken across state government since 2016 to cut costs and improve efficiency. Several agencies participated in pilot initiatives using principles and tools of the Arizona Management System to identify problems, define root causes and develop cost-saving solutions with sustainable results through standardization and waste reduction. The lessons learned as well as tools produced in these projects are made available here to all state agencies, boards and commissions in an effort to replicate results and maximize cost-saving benefits throughout state government.
